Vegetation analysis project to reduce costs for NSW power network
NM Group are working collaboratively on a vegetation analysis project with a major Australian network operator. It is expected that the project will establish significant cost savings in vegetation management operations.
Using the client’s existing LiDAR data, NM Group will add additional value through analysing the surrounding vegetation and topography and by providing a tree inventory. Using advanced analytics, we will calculate the likelihood of trees on the network impacting lines and also the rates of vegetation growth for determining the optimum level of cut back.
The project will allow the utility to better prioritise vegetation management activities and, ultimately, reduce risk and cost.
