NM Group Completes Aerial LiDAR Survey for 13,500 km Transmission Network in New South Wales
NM Group is proud to announce the successful completion of our recent aerial LiDAR project for a major transmission utility in New South Wales. Demonstrating our commitment to excellence and efficiency, we completed the project on time, delivering high-quality results in support of our client’s bushfire mitigation program.
Since 2020, NM Group has been working with this client to survey and monitor the entire high-voltage transmission network across New South Wales. This year’s project involved the delivery of a high-accuracy aerial LiDAR survey and analysis of nearly 13,500 km of transmission corridors and surrounding environments, forming a key part of their annual fire safety program.
Efficient Data Capture
Our field operations team began acquisition in February and completed the full survey in just 29 days, matching our fastest capture record to date. This efficient and effective data capture enables us to meet critical deadlines while ensuring the integrity of the data.
Advanced Data Processing and Analysis
Once acquired, the data was processed and analyzed by our GIS and engineering teams using advanced automation technologies. This process identified vegetation encroachments and potential risks to the transmission network, helping our client manage and mitigate fire hazards.
The project was delivered on time, supported by our teams’ ability to adapt workflows mid-project, improving efficiency while maintaining accuracy and data quality. This rapid turnaround enables effective decision-making and enhances operational reliability for our utility clients.
