We are looking for a creative and driven Year in Industry Software Engineer to work within our software engineering team. The role will provide varied opportunities to design and develop innovative software solutions.
This is an exciting role that offers the successful candidate a chance to work on a range of projects using the most appropriate methods and technologies, a role with freedom to be creative and close enough to the end user to really feel the impact of your work. Typical projects vary between state-of-the-art workflow management systems, web-based GIS systems and geospatial data processing.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about the job, striving to succeed using a mixture of engineering prowess and creative, innovative thinking. The ideal candidate will have experience in some of the following areas:
Python, relational databases, Web Application development, geospatial development and/or Test driven development experience would be a beneficial but a desire to create exciting user focussed software is more important.
The successful candidate will get to work as part of our in-house software team on our latest projects. Learning the tools of the trade as you go, each day will be different, one day you might be involved in architecting a new system, the next day debugging a web application and in the same week lead a code review.
