Building action into solutions

One of the key things we like to think about at NM Group is how can we make our solutions as useful to our clients as they can possibly be. Sounds contrived I know, but making the data truly useable and functional really is important. A common adage from clients is that if the data isn’t a good fit to their work processes then it will be a significant time drain to decipher the data results.

That’s why we take the time to understand the workflow and KPIs that a client has so that the data should be fit for purpose. Rather than simply saying, here is some LiDAR data showing vegetation that is close to your lines, we believe it is much better to show a client which spans have Priority 1 encroachments. It’s an important difference and one that makes the data infinitely more actionable.

The next step though, is looking at ways to integrate asset data into the workflows themselves. Where it adds value we are trying to help networks by providing software that can drive further action from the data. This might be providing software to task work crews to cut down infringing trees. Or alternatively providing functionality to make optimised planning decisions using the best data available. Building action into our solutions is where we believe we can add even more value to our clients and help them to deliver electricity more reliably, safely and with greater efficiency.
