New 480-mile survey to provide accurate asset records and ensure regulatory compliance

Posted

A major Southern utility has awarded NM Group a new aerial survey project for 480 miles of their transmission network. The lines will be flown to collect LiDAR and high resolution imagery.

The data will be modelled in PLS-CADD™. Temperature and wind conditions recorded at the time of survey will be taken into account to improve model accuracy. Structure numbers provided by the client will be matched to the images, to enable the condition of towers to be assessed.

This project will give our client an accurate picture of the condition and position of their network. The asset records will also be used to ensure regulatory compliance and for audit purposes.
