NM Group Secures Major Contract Extension with a Midwestern Electrical Utility
NM Group has secured a significant contract extension with one of the largest electrical utilities in the Midwest USA, continuing a successful partnership that began in 2012. Over the past decade, NM Group has delivered high-resolution aerial surveys and imagery of the utility’s transmission network twice a year, during the spring and fall seasons, to support their network management and planning activities.
As part of the contract, NM Group will continue to provide aerial surveys, capturing high-resolution corridor imagery and detailed structure-level images across the utility’s transmission network. These datasets will be processed into PLS-CADD models, enabling the utility to accurately assess thermal line ratings, identify vegetation encroachments, and address potential hazards.
Additionally, NM Group will deliver vegetation management reports, helping the utility proactively manage risks and optimize maintenance schedules to ensure reliable power delivery. The data will support the utility’s ability to identify problem areas and take swift action to reduce the likelihood of outages and meet regulatory standards.
This contract extension reaffirms NM Group’s role as a key provider of aerial surveys and geospatial data solutions to meet the evolving needs of the energy sector. By delivering precise and actionable insights, NM Group continues to support the integrity of critical infrastructure, ensuring safe and reliable power delivery across the utility’s transmission network.
