Austin Luecke joins our team as the new Customer Success Manager, bringing years of industry experience. Austin is based in Colorado and will focus on our customers in the USA and Canada. We sat down with Austin for a quick introduction.

Q: Can you share your background and experience in the utility industry?

A: My background is in aerial surveying. Eight years ago, I started as a sensor operator conducting aerial LiDAR and photogrammetry work. Over time, I transitioned into data processing, flight planning, and flight operations management roles. Alongside these responsibilities, I also took on bidding and data quality management tasks. I’m now excited to primarily be customer-focused and help serve utility stakeholders.

Q: From your perspective, what are the primary challenges facing utilities today, and how do you plan to address them in your role?

A: One of the biggest challenges facing utilities is the growing number of new technologies coming out to help them solve problems and comply with new regulations. Figuring out the optimal and scalable technological solution is a slow and resource-hungry activity. 

I look forward to bringing my insights and the greater knowledge of NM Group to help utilities manage their assets effectively.

Q: In your downtime, do you have any passions or hobbies?

A: I like to answer this question by saying I do all of the "Colorado activities," which include hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and rock climbing. I have also enjoyed training and teaching jiu-jitsu for the last ten years.
