Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2017

Over the past 10 years NM Group has expanded from 5 to 135 employees working across a range of disciplines including electrical and mechanical engineering, geospatial, aviation and surveying.

Our workforce has been integral in our success and we believe in training and supporting our skilled and diverse workforce and embracing flexible working arrangements.

The government’s apprenticeship scheme provides opportunities to develop new talent and we actively promote the benefits of apprenticeships and the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects in schools across Yorkshire.

Joe Whincup, a former participant in the apprenticeship scheme commented,

“Joining the company as an apprentice has been a really great experience. I joined the IT apprenticeship scheme over four years ago and I’m now leading the team as IT manager! It’s a fantastic way to learn the skills and gain the experience needed to actually do the job. NM Group provided the framework, training and support to allow me to develop and grow my skills. Although challenging, apprenticeships are a great way to build a career as long as you put the work in.”

NM Group CEO, Kevin Jacobs added,

“The apprenticeship scheme is really important to us at NM Group. It allows us to find and nurture new business talent and is something we are very proud to support”.
