Geospatial project to improve reliability for Ohio transmission network

Posted

NM Group are delighted to have been awarded a new project to aerially survey 62 miles of transmission lines across Ohio. Collecting geospatial data for the ROW, we will analyze LiDAR, downward imagery and close up structure photos. Temperature and wind conditions at the time will also be recorded.

Each LiDAR measurement will be associated a feature code and this classified data will then be used to create an accurate structure models using PLS-CADD™ software. Combined with the metrological and electrical load data our engineers can then model the conductor positions – confirming the thermal ratings for our client.

On delivery of the project, our client will be able to demonstrate regulatory compliance, validate network ratings and identify and remediate any thermal constraints.
