UK electricity network uses LiDAR data to assess environmental impact
NM Group has been awarded a project to survey terrain and infrastructure for a major UK power network. This project area will be part of a process to help conserve the natural environment in an important ecological area. The data will be employed in decisions such as whether to underground existing infrastructure and how best to avoid unacceptable environmental impact.
In addition to modeling the powerlines, we will be collecting a very high resolution dataset to accurately depict the topology. This is in addition to confirm our client's thermal ratings and updating their asset records. We are very pleased to be able further support our client in this important project.
